Thanks to Cheryl
1. Medley: Star Wars [12″ Version] (15:50) 2. Other Galactic Funk (12:32) 3. Star Wars Theme/Cantina Band (3:33) 4. Star Wars Theme/Cantina Band (12″ Disco Mix) (7:35)
Thanks. I have this on Vinyl, bought the day it came out. I really loved the original Star Wars Soundtrack, and was not sure I’d like something that was a “Disco” version of the music I loved. I really loathe the cheap Japanese Drummer “Thump Thump” type music and consider it a severe waste of time. But when I heard Domenico Monardo’s version I bought it on the spot. It didn’t hurt that it had a great cover art by Robert Rodriguez (not to be confused with the film-maker). Since then I have tried to collect all of MECO’s albums. After Star Wars And Other Galactic Funk, my favourite is “Music From Star Trek and Music from The Black Hole” mostly because of the great source material that Monardo did a fresh take on. While his versions of The Wizard Of Oz and Close Encounters Of The Third Kind were also great, I disliked the way too cute sugary voice added (particularly that horrible “Good Bye Good Bye”).
