Hello IHEARTMELISSABENOIST, Where is the problem ? Theses albums have all high quality (which is not the case for many current productions for television for example). Plus, non-soundtrack soul/R&B/funk/jazz albums are used extensively in films, right? The important thing is to get good music and these recordings remain limited on all the music of the day. So, Admin, Diogène and Co, continue, please, to expand our musical universe, always in quality !!!
Yes, it’s a bit like asking why on all general music download sites, you can find a soundtracks tab! ? It’s music, that’s all…And not to mention Tarantino, Scorcese, Schifrin, Morricone, Quincy Jones, Kubrick as well as a multitude of other composers and filmmakers as diverse as they are varied, who have been used in rock albums , soul or whatever, to serve the image, we will never stop quoting them…. The admin, plan a small place in an “other” section out of the ten daily places devoted to film music, the idea is judicious and allows everyone to be able to discover other musical universes with an option that “ for my part” I would describe as qualitative. Then, I offer a selection of CDs to the administrator of this site, but it is he who disposes of them as he wishes, including his decision not to publish them on his site.sincerly .
@IheartMelissaBenoist, there is negativity on this subject if you look for it! For my part, I only see positives in this affair, which is not really one. I don’t know about you, but as far as I’m concerned, I don’t eat film music every day and all year long. I like caviar, but I also don’t spit on a nice steak, burger or other, quite often in fact…There is nothing negative about your comment or about your place in particular. Offering a selection of CDs excluding film music in a location specified by the administrator in the “other” section is added value. These are also CDs selected by me for their intrinsically recognized qualities and many of the CDs posted here have great artistic value. I know well that the musical tastes of each of us are very subjective in any case, which is why I select for all tastes but always in quality, if only out of respect for this place where we love to find ourselves in a very specific framework which is film music. My dear IheartMelissaBenoist, relax a little, take your headphones, sit comfortably in a good armchair with a good drink in your hand and listen to some music man! Today on the menu, Keef Hartley, former drummer for John Mayall, is at the helm, in a record highly sought after by connoisseurs. Enjoy man! Or go your own way, nothing is imposed. Sincerly.
Well, I do apologize for any negativity or bad feelings I may have brought. Was not my intention. I forget that there are those separate categories, including Other Music. Love this site and always will. I’m sorry, I barely get any sleep nowadays thanks to a chronic medical condition, which doesn’t help my mindset. But I do have my headphones on, listening to The Creation by Haydn. 🙂
But please, you really don’t have to apologize and don’t worry, we’re all a little sick at the moment because society as a whole is. I couldn’t converse with you about “Haydn’s creation”, I’m not at all knowledgeable in classical music, on the other hand, I have a friend here present “LAURENT” who knows all that like the back of his hand, n Don’t hesitate to ask him, he is very friendly. And nothing stops you from sharing too if you wish! The only risk you take is to see Haydn in the “other” category sandwiched between Macy Gray and the Pixies; Lol…..otherwise, in the “Other Music” category there are also some great discoveries, like this one, which you might like: https://download-soundtracks.com/uncategorized/francois-couturier-nostalghia-song-for-tarkovsky/ Sincerly.

Just curious, why the recent influx of non-soundtrack soul/R&B/funk/jazz/etc. albums? Not complaining, some nice stuff in there, but what’s the deal?

Guys, I never said it was a problem. It just struck me as odd, these non-soundtrack albums starting to pop up more often. Forgive my OCD brain.
I wrote more specific responses but why add to the negativity that is the internet? C’mon, let’s lighten up, OK? Thank you! 🙂
