Wow – can’t believe you found this!!!!!!!!! Thank you!!!
Spoke too soon . . . As much as I appreciate you finding this, this is a LIVE cast recording – can you keep looking for a STUDIO cast recording – not sure they even made one . . .
The cast did record in the studio, but because of Sir Elton and his ego/personal issues, the recording was never distributed. I don’t think the cast members even got one. I’m hoping eventually it will end up on a collector’s edition of the collected theatre works of Elton John. I was lucky (?) enough to see the first public performance of this show…what an interesting experience that was.
The sound is terrible for some reason…Lots of background noises:(
Thanks. I never thought I’d see this. I saw the show when it previewed in San Francisco, before it went to NY and it was so bad it’s unbelievable. One number is worse than the next. You sat there thinking, “what were they thinking?” I was surprised it even went to NY after those shows in SF.
loved the show even though I only watched it on you tube. I am an Anne Rice fan since forever and well…and Hugh Penaro is Hugh Penaro and I simply saw Lestat in him. SF was better than Broadway in my opinion . I would LOVE to have those songs with the original cast recordings cause they were great!!!
