Here is a score that I did not know from Mr. Oliver Nelson and I found myself very enthusiastic about this high quality score to the point that I ordered it on vinyl straight away. Nelson’s arranging talents are no longer demonstrated as a Jazzman and on this score in particular, we clearly feel the touch of the composer of (The Six Million Dollar Man) especially on the title “It was you, it was me”. Great discovery, Thank you very much admin.
This work by Oliver Nelson is quite impressive. That doesn’t mean it’s easy to consume. The constant nervousness and noise of town and the tension of the story are accurately put into jazzy tunes. But there is also Bossa Nova and orchestrated big-band sound. Very much a product of iit’s time, which includes the overly use of bongo-percussion to get the action driving, thriving on… Thanks for sharing.
Just received this superb score by Mr. Oliver Nelson. The vintage analog mastering is truly excellent. Many thanks again, admin, for introducing us to this little gem. The record has barely started spinning, and it’s not about to stop anytime soon…

Je suis tes avis avisĂ©s, mon bon Diogène, et fait une sĂ©ance de rattrapage, l’ayant laissĂ© passĂ© !
@Diogène
J’ai tĂ©lĂ©chargĂ© 1961: The Blues and the Abstract Truth + 1964: More Blues and the Abstract Truth. Le must d’Oliver NELSON, parait-il. Es-tu OK avec ce choix ? Bien Ă toi

Album d’anthologie !
Thank you very much.
