Looking for the recent release that has the full Addison score plus the 15 mins of Herrmann’s score that he conducted during his one day of recording before Hitchcock fired him from the production.
FYI,, this album is the only way to get the complete score. Most of it was never actually recorded – Hitchcock didn’t like the 15 minutes of music he heard after the first day of recording (not sure why – there is nothing wrong with the music and it is very much in the Hitchcock/Herrmann tradition), and fired Herrmann from the film, replacing him with John Addison. The pair, who had collaborated on so many legendary films, never worked together again. There is also an album that was conducted by Elmer Bernstein back in the 1970s, available here (https://download-soundtracks.com/movie_soundtracks/torn-curtain-soundtrack-rejected-by-bernard-herrmann/), but this album is a bit longer and benefits from more modern production and a larger orchestra. McNeely’s Herrmann re-recordings have been top-notch, and this is no exception.
