I just wanted to say that this album contains only 30 minutes of the score (much of it is obviously not the most interesting). I’m pretty sure the film has at least 45-50 minutes of score. They stupidly stuffed songs into the album just to fill the space on the disc. So, I still hope that we will see an album with the COMPLETE/EXPANDED SCORE. I’m sorry, but this album release is ridiculous…
Ridiculous? Yes. A surprise? No. “Maverick” is just the first movie, reheated. I’ve seen the movie and it’s practically a scene-by-scene remake. And the third act climactic battle is a complete rip-off of “Stars Wars” and the attack on the Deathstar. Maverick closes ‘this close’ to saying the phrase “Use the Force.” No lie. George Lucas should sue. As for the score, the first soundtrack was mostly pop tunes with some instrumentals thrown in and it sold like crazy. Any wonder this release is the same?
Awesome, thank you for the mp3! And let’s be honest, as long as we have the updated versions of Danger Zone and the TG Anthem, do we really need much more? (Ok, the Canyon Dogfight would be nice:) )
So much for the re-imagineering Kenny Loggins spoke of and colaboration with a Rock band on a new version of Danger Zone !!!! [On TMZ ?] Spoiled whole movie for me that a few Meh older than the 80’s tracks were used in soundtrack.[Bowie & T-Rex ???] Ain’t like they didn’t have “enough time” to experiment for BETTER music… than tranny-man lad gaga !!!! [Lad] Spoiled movie for me !!! …and music coulda really given us that 80’s FEEL. Synth all the way. Who’d complain !!! Instead music gave it a …Mission:Impossible:Gun vibe throughout !!! Biggest disappointment of 2022.
You really think there will be a proper score release of Top Gun Maverick when we still haven’t had a proper release of Harold Faltermeyer’s score to the original film?!?! Outrageous
I’ll tell you even more: the original Top Gun score will be officially released. La Land Records will do it. Obviously, under the terms of the deal, the label can’t release an album with the score for the first film (it’s ready for release by the way) while Top Gun: Maverick hasn’t been released in theaters. So it’s just a matter of time before it happens. The label is unable to reveal more information at this time. You just have to keep an eye on La La Land Records releases. Cheers! _https://lalalandrecords.com/
Please re-upload this with Canyon Dogfight. The 30 second-sample I heard on this one website sends chills down my spine! I CAN’T WAIT TO HEAR THE FULL SONG!!
Thanks. I hated the first movie when it first came out, shoddy camera work and ridiculous American Hoo-Rah rubbish, some tolerable music, and a couple of stand out tracks (Berlin’s love theme and Faltermeyer’s title music), but on the whole not the best movie around. Maverick on the other hand, though a rip off of Star Wars (yes we all got that point), was much better. The modern camerawork and SFX made the difference, and although they still had some of the ridiculous Americanism, at least this time there was more plot than the first movie which had none. And it had Jennifer Connelly in the lead role which was the biggest plus. They added on the Star Wars Death Star canyon run for some extra plot which had some good points, and the typical 80’s style indestructible old warrior was a bit of a laugh. So not as bad as the original, but oh, that terrible Lady Gaga song on the end… Nearly ruined the whole thing. Not sure what Zimmer contributed as the music sounded just like the Faltermeyer stuff from the first movie, which was a plus. Funny how the opening of the film was exactly the same as the first movie, even if the editing, film and music, was much better. I wonder when they’ll do a third movie? Hopefully not in another 36 years, as I think even Cruise would look ridiculous climbing into the latest plane using a Zimmer frame. (Yes I am being sarcastic!)
Thanks Admin.
P.S. Ha! just noticed that Hans Zimmer and Zimmer Frame match (but are not related I assume).

Amazing Soundtrack, very nostalgic and very good, the best of the best
41 mins only?!?
And add 12 minutes of songs to that. 🙂 …
You mean “minus 12 minutes”.
Exactly!
Sorry…

Could it be possible to have :
13. Canyon Dogfight (*Japanese edition Bonus track)
Thanks in advance
Could really do without the appalling rendition of Great Balls.

Yes. We want more Zimmer.
I hope a complete expanded score is released. I would be willing to pay for it as well.

Je corrige “thèmes historiques” : Thèmes “célèbres” d’Harold FALTERMEYER. Cela sera bien suffisant…
The movie release must be close… I’m getting a hard-on
Hahahaha
Thanks!

Thanks for the info, I hope you’re right, because the original score is way better than this one.
Looking forward to stranger things 4 soundtrack!
The head and founder of the La La Land Records label, MV Gerhard, said this directly at one of the film music forums. So we are waiting…
I completely agree with you – the original score is the best!
Cheers!
