Est-ce vraiment utile de mettre des versions “amateurs” ?
No, it is not pirated, David. Both Varese and Intrada had tracks that were exclusive so I collated the best tracks from both and gave them the 5.1 treatment. Sounds pretty good, don’t you think?
Could you give some info on this release, Chris? Thanks so much!
Is it a combination of the Varése Sarabande and the Intrada release?
Hey, John, yes, I found the sound quality on the Varese disc slightly better but the Intrada 2 disc had more tracks, albeit retakes and outtakes. Disc 2 is mostly the Intrada tracks. Make sure your speakers are nailed down, mine jumped off the wall, that 5.1 surround sound had me dodging bullets! I hope in the near future La-La Land do the score right, it was one of Jerry’s best ever.
Thanks, Chris!
Many thanks.
Request: Elite season 5 soundtrack
Thank you very much, Chris and Admin !!:
How exactly were you able to extract separate channels from a stereo 2.0 mix to 5.1? Or did you just spread the two channels across the 5.1 channels?
Yeah, the 5.1 is terrible – as the files have been upsampled from CD quality (no higher resolution files have been released by either Varese or Intrada) and certainly no 5.1 score has been mastered, this is one for completists only. I prefer to have the official CD releases rather than this Frankenstein’s Monster of a release.
Not sure how you came to this conclusion but the 5.1 works great on my home theatre set-up. There has been a Varese CD circulating the Internet for several years but had been damaged. I switched out those 4 tracks with the corresponding ones from Intrada and just for good measure I put the Intrada outtakes and alternative tracks on CD 2. Sorry if it’s not to your taste but yours has been the only complaint. Do you contribute to the site and by that I mean other than criticism?
Hi Chris – I have both the Intrada and Varese CDs – note, CD – they have never released hi res files, let alone a 5.1 surround DSD or similar. Your home theatre must be very forgiving of source material to sound great. The original files are 2 channel stereo, simply creating phantom surround doesn’t improve on what’s already there – I can say quite happily that the Varese and Intrada CDs (especially the Intrada) sound far better in their native stereo than in the faux surround you’ve created. As to contributing, you’ll be happy to hear I pay for hotline for here, as well as buying the original CDs which keep Intrada, LLL and Varese producing them so you can experiment on them.
Like I said before, sorry that it wasn’t to your liking. Since the cost to you was ZERO you have lost nothing. I get great results using the program to faux-create the 5.1 effects. I have lost count of the CD’s that I bought from both companies and I am certain that neither are suffering financially because of my ‘experiments’ as you put it. You sound like a total sore-ass so, please, get help, move on and good luck.
Already moved on Chris – binned the download. I’ll leave you to play with your toys – if you’ve got any left in the pram.
Note to Chris. WRONG! WRONG! and three times a lady. And please don’t the French men say anything!
You heroic, keyboard warrior, you. Maybe, you’re a legend in your own mind but you’re beginning to sound like Mrs Deagle from Gremlins. Of the 89 posts that I contributed to the site yours is the only negative comment. If I find any of your posts ….
Thank you Chris. Cheers
I played some of this on way to work this morning it sounds like a regular cd soundtrack to me i didnt hear any surround sound or 5.1 audio i enjoyed so far what i heard
joseph
That’s because in order to hear surround music, you need something that will recognize surround sound. Not just a stereo.
Thanks!
Mr Christopher Howard – you’re free to comment on any of my posts. I really couldn’t care less what your opinion is, and I’m not so sensitive as to remove the option to ‘Reply’ to a comment. The point remains – your faux-5.1 processing of upscaled 44kHz material sounds dreadful on a decent system. You had fun making it? Great! Just try to remember, dear Christopher, that it’s a bootleg that you’ve cobbled together from official CD sources, added a sprinkle of digital effects, and posted online – it’s not the Sistine Chapel, it’s not a work of great moment – it’s a crappy sounding rip-off. All my opinion, of course, and I wish you the very best – though maybe, just maybe, learn to grow a slightly thicker skin if someone not liking something you made in your bedroom causes you so much anguish and rage. Toodle pip.
Dear Mrs. Deagle,
You keep contradicting yourself, especially when you say that you have “moved on” when, clearly you have not. and this last rant of yours proves it, doesn’t it? It all boils down to a download which did not meet your expectations, nothing more than that. And you are the only complainant. I was pleased with the results otherwise I would not have shared them. If only 1 out of 89 is a bit duff I think the ratio is acceptable.
Only replying to your endlessly childish and insulting comments, Chris. Not replying or reading any further comments, as you’re just a bit too needy (and, I suspect, I’m not dealing with an adult). Take care now.
Thanks for posting this. I was wondering what tracks if any are not on this? There seems a few titles missing that appear on the other releases.
