It looks/sounds like real FLAC to me. My music player (MOC on Linux) shows the bitrate in real time as the track plays, and I’m getting 800-900 kbps consistently.
Thanks Gary but I still believe it’s a re-encode. The spectral analyser I used suggests that this is really a 192kbps rip which has been upscaled, and it probably would display the kbps reading on your equipment., but it’s still not true FLAC (or even true 320, since the spectral analysis for each is practically identical). Thanks anyway. It does sound good nonetheless but…not ‘true’.
According to SPEK analyzer most of the tracks hit the 20-22khz mark. You can’t upconvert a 192kbs or a 320kbs and get those kind of results. Also, 683-773kbs is a healthy range (Foobar2000). If pictures jump off the walls at 20% volume you know that the files is good.
