It’s a mystery why two soundtracks of so different movies are clashed onto a single disc, but whatever. I am not happy about the sound quality of the St Louis score by Franz Waxman – a decent, elaborate, generally lovely work, that could actually as well be from an epic historical play. The Apartment by Adolph Deutsch with it’s jazzy score tells a completely different story and has a nice sound and listening quality.
