In my opinion, this re-recording is much better than the STROMBERG’s proposal. Produced and supervised by the son of Erich Wolfgang KORNGOLD, George KORNGOLD, it’s more dynamic and full of the original energy. The orchestral direction is exemplary. George KORNGOLD recounted that he had seen, as a child, how his father had suffered in his act of creation. He was tearing his hair out saying he’d never make it. “This is going too fast!” he complained. Result: a real masterpiece and an Oscar (deserved for once). Don’t miss it !!!
