What does “volume/silence edits” mean? What was wrong with it as it originally was?

The silence cut exceeded three seconds. End Title was like a baker’s dozen. I find it a bit unnecessary for too much silence spots, start and finish, when you want to hear music, not silence. As for volume. When you strain trying to hear a song’s change from normal to high then drop to low, very low. I have a program where I can increase low parts.
Go to youtube and search for the videos of the expanded. There you can listen and perhaps get an idea as to the whys to your question.
GARY SEVEN
The tracking order I had used was to correspond with the film. Tracks 14 – 19 preceded The Library in the film.
Why it was not done in the first place is hard to guess. And that is sometimes unfortunate with expanded additions. Perhaps INTRADA was keeping to the tune of their 2006 11 track cd.
Luckily my copy from Intrada is en route. Simon Rhodes and Chris Malone know what they’re doing in regard to mastering and soundtrack assembly.
tracks 14-19 are not by James Horner…it’s source music written by Greg McRitchie
This is edited vs the original cd rip and it shows. Tracks are shorter and just because they were silences, does NOT mean they should be removed. Edit on your own terms but please don’t post releases that are edited.
Thank you very much to DON and Admin.

Why bite the hand that feeds you? You lost nothing, but gained. Be thankful rather than critical.
DON – I think the frustration reflects the fact that the original release has been messed with, which is disappointing, rather than the original release being presented as samples for everyone to hear what the music sounds like (the whole purpose and misson statement of this site). Talking about “being grateful / hands that feed” is less than helpful – this website is designed to allow users to hear the music as it was released (then delete it) rather than hearing someone butcher the original release.
Added the original uncorrected release. Thanks to DON
Thank you Admin, thank you DON.
