Thank you for posting the 1st volume of the Sci-Fi’s Greatest Hits collection. I hope the final 3 volumes of the collection as well as the expanded version collection of the first 5 Planet of the Apes soundtracks.

I appreciate the upload, and I really like most of these pieces, but most of these are NOT the originals.They are re-recordings by other orchestras, sometimes with rewritten scores. Just a heads-up to anyone who downloads this.

The 4 volumes of the series were the first re-recordings of these themes by Neil Norman in the 70’s, 80’s & 90’s & the first EVER re-recordings of the Lost in Space themes, Land of the Giants, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea & Time Tunnel, the first time they were EVER heard in stereo.
However, re Lost in Space series 1 & 3 themes, for some unknown reason Neil omitted the intro sections of these themes and for land of the Giants he chose to add the Cat screech sound as in the original, losing the first chance to hear the well done version of the theme clean.
Neil went on the spearhead GNP Crescendo, which specialized in the partial 1st releases of the original scores to Lost in Space, Star Trek, and the other Irwin Allen series, however they weren’t released in full until LaLaLand records
gave us full score releases of Star Trek TOS, Lost in Space & The Time tunnel.
Sadly they only gave Land of the Giants & Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea partial releases, although they DID give us the FULL John Williams score for Land of the Giants Pilot “The Crash” which, along with the Full Time Tunnel pilot completed the entire collection of score & themes John Williams created for the Irwin Allen series.

It turns out the Neil Norman series I was referring to was “Greatest Science Fiction Hits” and this is either a different series altogether or possibly a repackaged re-release of, or including some of, Neil Normans originals.
