The Aftermath Of War (4:46) 8. Christmas Time (1:59) 9. Absolve Me Of My Sins (4:03) 10. Temptation (2:43) 11. Silent Night (0:50) 12. Freedom In Salzburg (1:58) 13. Magdalene’s Prayer (5:12) 14. The elaborate, orchestral, sometimes even opera-like efforts for the soundtrack imply that they wanted to make a bit hit with “Magdalene” in 1988, another story about the making of the popular christmas song “Silent Night”. They related heavily on the once popular (but always lovely) Nastassja Kinski and the music of Cliff Eidelman, I daresay. Eidelman’s original film music often delves right into kitsch and is generally too exaggerated for a story of common people in a rural area in 1818, and it contradicts the simple (yet effective) “Silent Night”. This FLAC version is a bit muffled with scattered errors, but not too bad to give it a try. Thx 4 sharing.
