True story: the reason why Jerry Goldsmith’s masterful orchestral score to this film was rejected (until the Director’s Cut DVD restored it) and replaced with Tangerine Dream’s electronica was because Sidney Sheinberg, then-head of Universal, saw how successful Risky Business had been and thought “Tom Cruise + Tangerine Dream = $$$”. Yeah, that’s why Risky Business was a hit, not because Rebecca DeMornay played a teenage hooker who #$%@s on trains lol.
