I thank you for this. But i seem to have a lot more background hiss on this 2022 remastered version (noticeable on the first track) compared to 1984 mp3 version would that be not be removed during remastering? i have always loved this album and have listened to it a lot since it’s release. i welcome the new tech to make things sound better and cleaner…but if it’s not broken why fix it
it’s a fashion effect, the market for my remastering has been booming for a good fifteen years. This saves the record companies from having to dig into their catalogs to edit unknown scores. So they remaster everything, sometimes year after year the same score without bringing any real added value to the original recording. It is only now that, by dint of work, they manage to highlight certain sound details that we had never heard before, like a musician who drops his score sheet, clears his throat or scratch the balls. It’s a seller, but only for a small part of us…
