The size of the music is unnaturally big. The MP3 version is 418MB, and the FLAC file is a whopping 1.3 GB. Just for a 1 hr 44 min album! The sizes have been exaggerated!! What the fuck is up with that?!!

That is simple to the fact, that the FLAC version 24bit.
If you are able to hear the difference between mp3 (320) and flac you would understand why people like me (quality lover) are so happy that flac is more and more spread.
24 bit versions are the next step (besides the upgrade of 44 khz to 48 and above).
of course it is much more difficult to hear a difference between flac (standard) and flac with higher attributes.
but it is not less quality.
the main factor (as always with these kind of topics) is “how good is the source”.
i upgradede my whole music collection from mp3 (320) to flac (standard = minimum) with the goal to get as high rescolution as possible (always with the source topic in mind).
short answer to your question:
mp3 320 = 400 mb
flac 16 bit = maybe around 900 mb
flac 24 bit = around the 1.3 gb
everything fine
i have single songs that are running 4 minutes and 200 mb big (24 bit, 96 khz)

Between this and Spider-Verse scores, Lorne Balfe’s Black Adam last year and Brian’s own F9 score the year before, it seems a lot of composers are shifting from abridged and edited “album version” tracks to more “film version” score albums. I like that, it means that I have to rely less on separate bootlegged complete scores. Now, if only we could get one of these for some of Hans Zimmer’s scores… I hope The Flash’s score is also like this. Considering it has had not one but two pre-release singles with two tracks each, it seems to be the case.
