The master Jerry Fielding being one of my bedside composers, it was with delight that I hastened to order this little nugget signed Jerrold Immel which I had known for a long time, but which had never been published.
Death Hunt is halfway between a good score by Jerry Fieldind and a good score by Jerry Goldsmith, very well orchestrated, with the addition of Native American percussion instruments such as water drums and other Chajchas which gives this score a color very particular. We will also note the influence of John Williams on Jerrold Immel “Missouri Breaks”, particularly for the writing of his very pretty theme “Man’s Best Friends”. The film is well put together with Charles Bronson and Lee Marvin at the top!
