Happy to come across this – as the producer of the album, I’d also be happy if you take it down, as you certainly don’t have permission to distribute this digitally
Robert P – you da MAN! Thank you for sharing this album. Usually if a CD says City of Prague, I don’t bother with it as re-recordings never match up to the originals, and even under Jerry Goldsmith’s baton (Rio Conchos, The Sand Pebbles) they are like silver paper on a tooth filling. But this one well done. It even sounds like vintage Goldsmith. Thanks again.
Just a heads-up for anyone downloading the so-called “FLAC 24bit” version.
I ran a spectral analysis of some tracks, and despite the 96kHz / 24-bit label, there’s no actual high-resolution content. The audio cuts off hard around 21–22kHz — which basically means this is either an upsampled CD-quality file or the original source was never Hi-Res in the first place.
It’s kind of frustrating because the site advertises it like it’s true Hi-Res, but it’s just not. So don’t be fooled by the fancy label — it looks good on paper, but there’s nothing above standard resolution inside.
If you care about real Hi-Res audio, this isn’t it…
That said, big thanks for sharing this. It’s really cool to have access to this rare score at all. Just thought it was worth clearing up the technical part for other audio geeks like me.
Chris Howard – Also, the City of Prague’s versions of Goldsmith’s QB VII, Hour of the Gun, The Blue Max, and The Salamander are excellent, and do justice to Goldsmith’s original recordings.
Thanks, Gary. Some years ago I wrote to Nick Redman to see if there was any chance of getting hold of the original recording to Hour of the Gun. Nick said they had been destroyed. One of the best tracks on it was The Search, which was pretty good in the film but slightly off when compared to the album. Oddly enough, the CoP re-rec sounded better. But you can’t match Jerry Goldsmith, he was the king of music for films. Cheers!

Leigh – perhaps a link to where the album can be downloaded might serve better – https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lpfilmmusic/record-jerry-goldsmiths-scores-for-pursuit-and-crawlspace
Thank you!
Chris Howard – If you like Miklos Rozsa, you should check out the City of Prague versions of Ben-Hur and El Cid. They’re magnificent!

There are 46 cues listed on the backcover, not 45. where is the missing cue
