thanks for this great score.
the soundtrack is great as hell, better than the varese score, because all odies from the radio are in it.
but the quality sounds like a bad 128kbit rip or from a LP. maybe you get a better one and re-up it.
Oh man dude…
Let’s never meant in real life, cause, if we do, I’ll just start making out with you in the sloppiest, grossest way imaginable – and I couldn’t careless if you’re a girl or a boy!
THANK YOU!!!
Sorry but it’s right, the sound is AWFULL, nothing else.
After analyse i can tell that the files were over rated at 320, plus most of them are mono instead of stereo originals. This post should be deleted, it’s a pure crap. Don’t bother download.
I apologize for whatever complaint is made. First, stereo. Most of the songs are from the 50s and stereo did not come into commercial use until at least the mid 50s. Even into the 60s some record companies still recorded mono, or produced very narrow stereo. The songs, with the exception of 1 and 30 are mono for two reasons. First. With the exception of I Wonder Why and Bony Moronie has not been issued in stereo. Second. The songs are played by the car, Christine. Cars in the fifties were not equipped with stereo radios and stations were not yet equipped for airing stereo plays.
Anytime one expects perfection, it is not possible. One thing may however be given improvement from which it was in the beginning. But there is nothing perfect in an imperfect world.
As to quality. I would hope someone would take initiative and improve the quality of sound and have it added to this site for others.
Re-up thanks! 🙂
Not to be too nit-picky, but I have a lot of these mid-50s tracks on other albums and the quality is much better than these tracks. I appreciate the work that went into organizing this collection, but the poor sound quality on the whole album is a bit jarring. Almost like they were recorded off the television. At any rate, would it be possible to upload the John Carpenter & Alan Howarth – Christine – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Score from Varèse Sarabande?
Thank you
re-up to new version from DON
Thanks for the reup!
thanks !
re-up please! 🙁
Here is a wrong cover
“The Name of the Game” of ABBA in this soundtrack?
No, Roberto, The Name of the Game did not appear in the film itself. The reason was that the scene in which it appeared had been cut from the film. The scene cut was a meeting at a drive in restaurant prior to the scene of arriving at the garage.
Just so those complaining of the quality ought to know that the majority of songs was taken from compact discs. To put the songs together and add to the score, I bought discs which had the specific song. Nothing was taken from mp3. There may have been a couple songs which were flac files decompressed to wav files. But not one was an mp3 file. I hope that those complaining will take this into account.
Guys. Its not WAV its WMA
I was just re-watching the movie (having finally read the book this vacation) and noticed that ABBA’s “The Name of the Game” is actually in the film:: the intro is playing in one the first scene where Dennis drives Arnie to school, but he switches the radio off just as the vocals are about to begin. So it’s barely there, but it was definitely licensed and included, if just briefly.
