WOWOWOW !! Like falling Christmas presents at dawn !!
I am one of the biggest fan who listen to the soundtrack of the old cinema film, Casper (1995).
From the time I was in junior high school and also a big fan of the little artist – Christina Ricci (at that time), I have always played the album repeatedly on the tape cassette until the tape scratched. One day, I finally upgraded to a CD that can be played back smoothly with its mellow piano track, “Casper’s Lullaby” in much clear quality without the hiss noise of a cassette. Here the advantages of having CD for sure.
Now what’s interesting in the track “First Haunting / The Swordfight” there is a tune of ‘shock’ where back in the era of tapes on a tape-radio speakers, in certain minutes (I have already memorized) my fingers had to get ready to turn down the volume knob before all the residents of the house got shocked
Maybe the CD is still neatly stored in my house in Medan (Indonesia). But now everything is completely digital, so I still keep the M4A version which is 256 kbps (originally converted from my own CD to iTunes) on my external hard drive here (Bali).
Today the album “25th Anniversary Remastered” is released, particularly at download soundtracks – which has a super complete track-listings! I have been listening the album within 15 tracks, but amazingly this time, there are 39 tracks !!!
As expected, the tracks released this time are like finding hidden gems !!! If we watch certain films, generally not all the music or songs we hear are released on the soundtrack album (either because of the producer’s decision or the limited capacity of cassettes and CDs at that time) and must accept the reality since then.
So if in the past, if there was a certain music or song that hit my hearts and it was not released on the album or it was difficult to find everywhere (even on the internet), then my best solution -> I would record the music / song myself directly from the tape recorder ( cassette) separated to the TV speakers after the VHS tape has been set for a certain minute. Moolah!!! very happy!
This album ‘Remastered’ is an un-expectation release album one in my opinion. I haven’t finished listening to all 39 tracks yet but so far it’s more than satisfying to hear the quality of the FLAC format in the VLC player (software) on my computer.
Music that has been heard before is familiar to be heard again. It is like remembering what made you smile from some of the activities of those small moments from that time. The clarity of the music is still practically the same as CD quality. For tracks that I have never heard before (such as the track “Kida With A Camera”) it is definitely a new ‘sensation’ even though I try to imagine certain scenes in the film roughly according to the music I’m listening to.
Thank you so much download-soundtracks team for releasing such gem album.
Alex Barus.
