I don’t get it. This is the third “Soundtrack Score” to The Shining I have found, and it STILL is not from the film. The main Title and Rocky Mountains are the only two tracks on any of the albums that are from the film. None, NONE, of the other tracks are from the movie. Why is that?

@James, Wendy originally composed an entire score that was later mostly discarded (apart from the main titles and Rocky Mountains) in favor of the Ligeti and Penderecki pieces that are now synonymous with it. It was released as two separate volumes until the Lost Scores banner and this one seems to include that plus a bunch of other stuff, including the original composition that inspired the main titles.

But Kubrick fell in love with the temp tracks he listened to in the background while studying the dailies/outtakes and editing the movie.
Shit move on Kubrick’s part, Wendy had spent two years (!) creating that score
