Danny Elfman is a great composer.
Zimmer… is a butcher…
Only a tone deaf person can appreciate his noise.
No emotion…nothing…
Any kid with a synthesizer can do a better job.
Easy to emulate Zimmer but not easy to emulate Danny Elfman or John Williams…

Thanks Admin. Seems this one attracted a lot of contentious opinions. Many of the modern soundtracks from recent Superhero movies have been quite bland. DC has fallen foul of this quite a lot. Just look and the rubbish served up as a soundtrack for the Christopher Nolan Batman films. Mostly a single note played to annoyance. Compared to the brilliant Danny Elfman scores for the Tim Burton Films, particularly Batman Returns, and the Theme to The Batman Animated series. Man Of Steel was similarly afflicted but marginally better than the Nolan Batman scores. Then DC did Suicide Squad and while the score was bland, there was a few decent incidental songs that worked nicely (with the exception of course of that non-music called cRap). But finally there was a little hope at the end of the tunnel, Wonder Woman actually got a decent theme, not just decent but pretty damn good. I have been hoping that they would cotton on to this and again start giving scores a personality and characters decent themes. So here is hoping that Justice League is the film to get back to proper music for bigger than life characters.

I think I understood what Danny Elfman did, he understood that Man of Steel and Batman V Superman were movies preparing these characters to be the heroes of the original films and in the League they are already, that’s why he didn’t used any Zimmer’s score, and use the theme of 89’s Batman and the classic Superman theme.
But he could have use the Lolita Ritmanis’ Justice League Theme.

In defense of Zimmer, I love his “Lone Ranger” finale track and the entire score in general. I also thank him for “Madagascar” but in all 3 movies he never took the theme too far. It’s all ” I wanna move it,move it” junk.

The music is not as exciting as I would have hoped. The themes are muted and even Wonder Woman’s new distinctive theme is barely recognizable in this score. I agree that there should be nods to previous themes used for the characters (always something for true fans to pick out) but that this should be more about a collection of the DCCU’s (Detective Comics Cinematic Universe) themes for each individual character being cleverly built into a collective theme that ignites excitement which then becomes the Justice League Theme.

Ironically Hans Zimmer is an artist better at using other peoples work and making a decent job of bringing those themes together, maybe not quite as exciting as the original, but in its own way quite good (The job he did on Pirates Of The Caribbean for instance).

Danny Elfman is better when creating his own music, not incorporating other peoples work. At the very least, with this OST he should have had the chance to create themes for the previously unseen characters, but even those themes seem to be muted. So while this is a score that will work nicely for the film, I have no doubt, but it is still somewhat lacking in many respects.

No sé porqué andan de lamebotas con Elfman, desde hace tiempo que no hace un trabajo memorable y prueba de ello es que tiene que recurrir a la nostalgia utilizando los temas de las películas clásicas de DC. El punto con Zimmer y Junkie XL era dejar aquellos temas atrás y crear nuevos para cada héroe, el tema de Man of Steel con el primer vuelo de Clark es simplemente un deleite auditivo que brinda sensación de un tono épico para Superman, aunque para batman no se logró crear un tema especial, wonder woman sí lo consiguió. Este nuevo soundtrack se escucha muy genérico e incluso se aprecian partes que pareciera, copió directamente del soundtrack de Avengers.

Parece que hay bastante gente comentando aquí, y bastantes hispanohablantes, así que sumo mi opinión, jejejeje… ví la película ayer, y más allá de que la película en sí me encantó, no terminé de sentirme convencido por la banda sonora de Danny Elfman como tal.

Entiendo (aunque no comparto su opinión) a los que detestan a Hans Zimmer, sea porque opinan que es un estruendoso, o que el cine está viviendo bajo una especie de “Pax Zimmeriana” bajo su égida y la de sus discípulos, pero es indiscutible que el hombre sabe componer temas que uno inevitablemente recuerda y asocia a los momentos de las películas a las que pertenece ésa banda sonora, y quedan dentro de uno con mucha naturalidad. Éso es algo que no debe ser infravalorado jamás, y que de un modo u otro lo llevó a sentar escuela a lo largo de al menos dos décadas. Hasta cierto modo, él y Elfman coinciden en ése punto.
Pero en las películas del DCEU hasta ahora, la banda sonora era un personaje más de la historia, y se hacía distintiva sin distraer la atención de lo que estaba en pantalla… y aunque lo que compuso Danny es buen material, se queda muy a la zaga y por bastantes momentos es casi imperceptible, salvo por un par de escenas. Casi al punto de que se disfruta mucho más aquí por separado que viendo la película, mientras que lo que hacían Hans y Junkie era disfrutable tanto en las películas como oyendo la banda individualmente.
