Not a good sign with a movie score CD loaded with songs. Makes me look forward to seeing the movie even less now. Hope there is an eventual Elfman only release.
Just saw in theaters a few days ago. Disappointed how many songs are in the film as opposed to score. What the hell was Burton thinking? Was this a requirement from the studio? Reminds me of the 90’s when damn near every film was packed with songs just to sell a CD. Sad.
I think the balance was great, the songs really make the movie much more fun. Also your comparison to the 90s doesn’t really add up; back then it was primarily used to promote the movie when a famous artist released a new song. The songs used in this movie aren’t that new haha
