B-Movie means not, that the movie is bad because anyone gives the letter “B” for it what only shows his own private rating or the rating of a elitist group.
Just an FYI :
The term “B Movie” originally referred to the lesser half of a double feature; the same way records had an A and a B side. Because they were essentially intended as support for bigger films (and as a means to boost box office returns), they were produced as inexpensively as possible and the B also took on the added meaning of “budget” picture – as in low(er) budget.
It has nothing to do with the quality of the films, the acting or the merits of the films themselves. Casablanca is an undeniable classic for the ages, but it was originally a B picture.
